| Well,
I [G]dreamed
I saw the knights in [C]armour
coming, sayin' [G]something
about a [C]queen. There where [G]peasants singin' and [D]drummers drummin' and the [C]archer split the [D]tree. There was a [Em]fanfare blowin' [F]to the sun that was [C]floating on the [F]breeze. [G]Look at Mother Nature [D]on the run in the [F]nineteen seven[C]ties [G]Look at Mother Nature [D]on the run in the [F]nineteen seven[C]ties I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high. I was thinking about what a Friend had said I was hoping it was a lie. Thinking about what a Friend had said I was hoping it was a lie. |
Well, I
dreamed I saw the silver Space ships flying In the yellow haze of the sun, There were children crying And colors flying All around the chosen ones. All in a dream, all in a dream The loading had begun. They were flying Mother Nature's Silver seed to a new home in the sun. Flying Mother Nature's Silver seed to a new home. |

I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin’.

Chorus:
Don’t go around tonight,
Well, it’s bound to take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
I hear hurricanes ablowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.
Chorus
All right!
Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.

| My child arrived just the other day He came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch and bills to pay He learned to walk while I was away And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew He'd say "I'm gonna be like you dad You know I'm gonna be like you" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home dad? I don't know when, but we'll get together then son You know we'll have a good time then My son turned ten just the other day He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let's play Can you teach me to throw", I said "Not today I got a lot to do", he said, "That's ok" And he walked away but his smile never dimmed And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah You know I'm gonna be like him" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home son? And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home son? I don't know when, but we'll get together then son You know we'll have a good time then I've long since retired, my son's moved away I called him up just the other day I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind" He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time You see my new job's a hassle and kids have the flu But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad It's been sure nice talking to you" And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me He'd grown up just like me My boy was just like me And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home son? Darkness, Darkness, be my pillow, Take my head and let me sleep
In the coolness of your shadow, In the silence of your deep
Darkness, darkness, hide my yearning, For the things I cannot see
Keep my mind from constant turning, To the things I cannot be
Darkness, darkness, be my blanket, cover me with the endless night
Take away the pain of knowing, fill the emptiness with light
Emptiness with light now
Darkness, darkness, long and lonesome, Is the day that brings me here
I have felt the edge of sadness, I have known the depths of fear
Darkness, darkness, be my blanket, Cover me with the endless night
Take away this pain of knowing, Fill this emptiness with light now
Emptiness with light now
Darkness, darkness, be my blanket, cover me with the endless night
Take away this pain of knowing, fill this emptiness with light now

If I Were A Carpenter
Robert Plant
-----------
If I were a carpenter, and you were a lady
Would you marry me anyway? would you have my baby?
If a tinker were my trade, would you still find me
Carrying the pots I made - following behind me?
Save my love through loneliness - save my love through sorrow
I give you my only-ness - give me your tomorrow
If I worked my hands in wood, would you still love me?
Answer me, babe: "yes I would - I'd put you above me"
If a miller were my trade, at a mill wheel grinding
Would you miss your colour box - your soft shoes shining
Save my love through loneliness - save my love through sorrow
I give you my only-ness - come give me your tomorrow
If I were a carpenter, and you were a lady
Would you marry me anyway? would you have my baby?
Would you marry me anyway? would you have my baby?

My Time of Dying
Led Zeppelin

Well, in
my time of dying don't want nobody to mourn
All I want for you to do is take my body home
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Well, well, well
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Jesus gonna make up, Jesus gonna make up
Jesus gonna make up my dying bed.
Well,
meet me Jesus, meet me, meet me in the middle of the air
If these wings should fail to me,
Lord, won't you meet me with another pair?
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Well, well, well
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Jesus gonna make up, Jesus gonna make up
Jesus gonna make up my dying bed.
Lord, in
my time of dying don't want nobody to cry
All I want you to do is take me when I die
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Well, well, well
Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Jesus gonna make up, Jesus gonna make up
Jesus gonna make up my dying bed.

| There's colors on the street Red,
white and blue People shufflin' their feet People sleepin' in their shoes But there's a warnin' sign on the road ahead There's a lot of people sayin' we'd be better off dead Don't feel like Satan, but I am to them So I try to forget it, any way I can. Keep on rockin' in the free world, Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world, Keep on rockin' in the free world. I see a woman in the night With a baby in her hand Under an old street light Near a garbage can Now she puts the kid away, and she's gone to get a hit She hates her life, and what she's done to it There's one more kid that will never go to school Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool. |

Owoooooooo! Who's that I see walkin' in these woods? Why, it's Little Red Riding Hood. E Hey there Little Red Riding Hood,You sure are looking good.
You're everything
a big bad wolf could want. Listen to me. Little Red Riding Hood I don't think little big girls should
Go walking in
these spooky old woods alone. Owoooooooo! What big eyes you have, The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad.
So just to see
that you don't get chased I think I ought to walk with you for a ways. What full lips you have. They're sure to lure someone bad.
So until you get
to grandma's place I think you ought to walk with me and be safe. That I can be trusted walking with you alone.Owoooooooo!
|
Little Red Riding Hood I'd like to hold you if I could
But you might
think I'm a big bad wolf so I won't. Owoooooooo! Little Red Riding Hood Even bad wolves can be good. I'll try to be satisfied just to walk close by your side.
Maybe you'll see
things my way before we get to grandma's place. You sure are looking good You're everything that a big bad wolf could want.Owoooooooo! I mean baaaaaa! Baaa?

I woke from a dream in the middle of the night another tiny part of me just died and every little girl takes another part this little girl she stole my heart
It's my own damn fault, I can't blame anyone If you can't stand the heat, back away from the sun The only thing to do is to run and run and run
In my dreams and everywhere her deep drown eyes and her golden hair i'll never forget that terrible day when she packed up her bags and she moved away
I might be might my fault, but I don't blame anyone If you can't stand the heat, back away from the sun The only thing to do is to run and run and run |
Stood outside in the pouring rain prayed to God that I would see you again the sun don't shine and the birds don't sing waiting for the ******* ****** phone to ring
I might be might my fault, but I don't owe anyone Why can't a guy just have a little fun Why shoud I be the one to run
The more I think about it the madder I get This might not be the end of it yet You think I'm fool, you etter think again Now you're gonna see just what I am
Meet me down by the river and you know we'll have some fun Just you and me and my 44 mag-i-num It just might be your turn to run...

Oh, hello Mr. Soul, I dropped by to pick up a reason
For the thought that I caught that my head is the event of the season
Why in crowds just a trace of my face could seem so pleasin'
I'll cop out to the change, but a stranger is putting the tease on.
I was down on a frown when the messenger brought me a letter
I was raised by the praise of a fan who said I upset her
Any girl in the world could have easily known me better
She said, You're strange, but don't change, and I let her.
In a while will the smile on my face turn to plaster?
Stick around while the clown who is sick does the trick of disaster
For the race of my head and my face is moving much faster
Is it strange I should change? I don't know, why don't you ask her?

I love you, baby, can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.

I watched the needle take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.
I sing the song because I love the man
I know that some of you don't understand
Milk-blood to keep from running out.

I once had a girl, or
should I say, she once had me.
She showed me her room, isn’t it good, norwegian wood?
She asked me to stay and she told me to sit anywhere,
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn’t a chair.
I sat on a rug, biding my time, drinking her wine.
We talked until two and then she said, "it’s time for bed".
She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didn’t and crawled off to sleep in the bath.
And when I awoke I was alone, this bird had flown.
So I lit a fire, isn’t it good, norwegian wood.
| Your breath is sweet Your eyes are like two jewels in the sky. Your back is straight, your hair is smooth On the pillow where you lie. I don't sense affection No gratitude or love Your loyalty is not to me But to the stars above. One more cup of coffee for the road, One more cup of coffee 'fore I go To the valley below. Your daddy he's an outlaw And a wanderer by trade He'll teach you how to pick and choose And how to throw the blade. He oversees his kingdom So no stranger dare intrude His voice it trembles as he calls For another plate of food. |

You let everybody know
But don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
Your mother she's an heiress, owns a block in Saint John's Wood
And your father'd be there with her If he only could
But don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
Your old man took her diamond's and tiaras by the score
Now she gets her kicks in Stepney Not in Knightsbridge anymore
So don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
now you've got sine diamonds and you will have some others
But you'd better watch your step, girl Or start living with your mother
So don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
So don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire

Rain Song
Led Zeppelin
| This is the springtime of
my loving - the second season I am to know You are the sunlight in my growing - so little warmth I've felt before. It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low. It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom. Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune. Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from time to time. |
Talk Talk - I've felt the coldness of my winter I never thought it would ever go. I cursed the gloom that set upon us... But I know that I love you so These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall This is the wonder of devotion - I see the torch we all must hold. This is the mystery of the quotient - Upon us all a little rain must fall. |

I can picture every move that a man could make, getting lost in her loving is
your first mistake.
Sundown, you better take care if I find you been creeping 'round my back stairs.
Sometimes I think it's a sin when I feel like I'm winning, when I'm losing
again.
I can see her looking fast in her faded jeans, she's a hard loving woman, got me
feeling mean.
Sometimes I think it's a shame when I get feeling better, when I'm feeling no
pain.
Sundown, you better take care if I find you been creeping 'round my back stairs.

Back about eighteen and twenty-five I left Tennessee very much alive I never would've made it through the Arkansas mud If I hadn't been riding on the Tennessee Stud Had some trouble with my sweetheart's Pa One of her brothers was a bad outlaw I wrote a letter to my Uncle Spud And I rode away on the Tennessee Stud On a Tennessee Stud The Tennessee Stud was long and lean The color of the sun and his eyes were green He had the nerve and he had the blood There never was a horse like Tennessee Stud
Drifted on down into no man's land Across the river called the Rio Grande Raced my horse with the Spaniard's foe Til I got me a skin full of silver and gold Me and the gambler, we couldn't agree We got in a fight over Tennessee
|
Pulled our guns and he fell with a thud And I rode away on a Tennessee Stud The Tennessee Stud was long and lean The color of the sun and his eyes were green He had the nerve and he had the blood There was never a horse like the Tennessee Stud
I rode right back across Arkansas I whipped her brother and I whipped her Pa I found that girl with the golden hair She was riding on a Tennessee Mare Pretty little baby on the cabin floor Little horse colt playing round the door I loved the girl with the golden hair And the Tennessee Stud loves the Tennessee Mare The Tennessee Stud was long and lean The color of the sun and his eyes were green He had the nerve and he had the blood There was never a horse like the Tennessee Stud

If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you
When mountains crumble to the sea
there will still be you and me
Kind a-woman, I give you my all, kind a-woman, nothing more
Little drops of rain whisper of the pain
Tears of loves lost in the days gone by
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong
Together we shall go until we die, my, my, my
An inspiration's what you are to me, inspiration, look and see
And so, today, my world, it smiles
Your hand in mine, we walk the miles
A-thanks to you, it will be done
for you to me are the only one, alright, yeah
Happiness, no more be sad, happiness, I'm glad
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be lovin' you

As large as life she stood there Kissed my cheek and called my old nickname And though several years had passed Both of us still looked quite the same I said hi relaxed a bit Then asked her how she'd been all these years She told me she was feeling fine And came to see a friend who lived up here She told me she had finished school And then went on to college for a year I asked if she had married Slowly down her cheek there came a tear She said just an itchy eye It must be the weather way up here
|
I told her I can't stand the cold It freezes me and I can't feel my ears We talked a bit about Mobile And thought about how it has never changed I told her I was a comin' home To spend some time and hoped it wouldn't rain She asked if she could see me then And we could spend some time now and then Because I lived so far away Was still no chance why we could not be friends I drove her to the waiting plane Watched that big jet streaking through the sky Thought about the sad young girl And the time that I just saw her cry That flame must still be burning bright I think I'll catch a later flight today It's time for me to go on home And spend a day or two down by the bay

Chorus: There's a woman goin' crazy on Caroline Street Stoppin' every man that she does meet Sayin' if you'll be gentle if you'll be sweet I'll show you my place on Caroline Street
She claimed in a loud voice to be a dancer But I don't think she's cut a rug in years Listens to the jukebox for her answers Slowly guzzles twenty-five cent beers Talks about the men she's known and then some She's seen them in her dreams and on the street She slides her dapper legs from beneath the table As if to reveal some kind of treat
Chorus
|
Her lover left her stranded in Jamaica Just right now she can't recall his name Perceiving she's the center of attention And all the lurking eyes they look the same Weather's got the shrimpers in a frenzy They're horny and don't need a good excuse Someone yells and things just start erupting And in a flash all hell has broken loose
Chorus
When I woke up and looked around the barroom She was gone and I was black and blue So be careful when you go to swing your partner Someone just might take a swing at you
Chorus (To Fade)

Wreck Of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Gordon
Lightfoot
---------------
| The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
of the big lake they call 'Gitche Gumee.' The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead when the skies of November turn gloomy. With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty, that good ship and true was a bone to be chewed when the gales of November came early. The ship was the pride of the American side, coming back from some mill in Wisconsin. As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most with a crew and good captain well seasoned. Concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms when they left fully loaded for Cleveland, and later that night when the ship's bell rang, could it be the north wind they'd been feeling? The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound and a wave broke over the railing. And every man knew, as the captain did too, t'was the witch of November come stealing. The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait when the Gales of November came slashing. When afternoon came it was freezing rain in the face of a hurricane west wind. When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck saying, ‘Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya.’ At Seven P.M. a main hatchway caved in, he said, ‘Fellas, it's been good t'know ya.’ The captain wired in he had water coming in and the good ship and crew was in peril. And later that night when his lights went out of sight came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. |
Does any one know where the love
of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours? The searches all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay if they'd put fifteen more miles behind her. They might have split up or they might have capsized, the may have broke deep and took water. And all that remains is the faces and the names of the wives and the sons and the daughters. Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings in the rooms of her ice-water mansion. Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams, the islands and bays are for sportsmen. And farther below Lake Ontario takes in what Lake Erie can send her, and the iron boats go as the mariners all know with the Gales of November remembered. In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed in the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral. The church bell chimed till it rang twenty-nine times for each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald. The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down of the big lake they call 'Gitche Gumee'. Superior, they said, never gives up her dead when the gales of November come early. |
