Stadhuis From the Roof Cafe Crowd Parking Structure Horizon

Well, Delft's parking structure was way more space age than Leiden's and it seemed liked a bigger city to boot.  Paying for parking was tricky - but we won't get into the nitty gritty because we don't want to bore you.  And we quickly forgot the inconvenience because the Oude Kerk, or Old Church, was right around the corner.

The highlight of the city is the market square that features the town hall, also called the Stadhuis, and the Nieuwe Kerk, the looming cathedral that casts a long shadow over all the casual café dwellers.  Jake got nervous because we took the stairs to the top of the church, which seemed more rickety and listing than it did from the bottom.

Delft is known for its blue plates.  We don't remember seeing any.  But we did stop for a photo op at Vermeer's grave.
