Business has taken me to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on several occasions.  It is easy to get to - not far from Chicago.  I am glad to have had the opportunity to visit that gritty town.  This city still lives up to its German, industrial, beer-making, reputation.

For architecture buffs, this manageable town is full of great "early-Americana" factory and commercial buildings.  There are tours available of the mansions of industrialists who made fortunes in the area.

Milwaukee also offers some fantastic German and East-European restaurants; the food is rich and the beer is plentiful.
