Right in the middle of the highway outside of Oaxaca the road splits to accommodate a vast ahuehuete tree, which is a type of cypress, that the Oaxacans call El Tule. It is about 138 feet around and 2000 years old and it's HUGE! It's girth is also accentuated by the fact that there is nothing else in sight for miles in the sprawling dust. |
