Rarotonga is a fun little island. It has a very laid-back visitor-friendly culture. After checking out Aitutaki, we went to "Raro" for about four or five days and we found plenty to do or not. I wasn't expecting adventure or haut culture, and neither of these were particularly available. But the island is a super place to while away the daytime between nights of self-generated revelry. |

I guess my favorite feature of this island was the sunsets. Every night the sky blossomed into a spectacular symphony of color. These magical lightshows seemed to last and last. They ought to sell tickets. |
| We had the good fortune to celebrate a new year's eve in Avarua, specifically at Trader Jack's tavern. It was a night of debauchery to be sure. We met quite a few fellow travelers, and one fuzzy-eyed vagabond actually managed a decent shot of the crew of us that night. |

If you have a good book or two and you want to do some easy time, Rarotonga is a relaxing, inexpensive little gig. Come to think of it - somebody sign me up! |
